Widely acknowledged for bringing national attention and scholarship money to women’s sports

Career coaching record of 149-15 with .910 winning percentage

2 time Coach of the Year (1973, 1974)

First coach to serve on the United States Olympic Women’s Basketball Committee

Coached the U.S. Women’s Basketball team to a Pan-American Games Gold Medal (1975)

Coached in the first women’s collegiate basketball game to appear on national TV (1/26/75)

5 Eastern AIAW Championships as coach of the Might Macs

Led the Might Macs to 5 consecutive AIAW Basketball Championship Games (1972-76)

Coached the Mighty Macs to 3 consecutive AIAW National Championships (1972-74)

Recipient of the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Pioneer Award (1994)

Inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame (1995)

Inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame

Inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (2000)

Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (2008)
