- Local student to attend a college outside the Philadelphia-area.
- Student from outside Philadelphia-area to attend a Philadelphia-area college
- Monies are distributed on an annual basis, directly to the educational institution.
- Scholarships are grants, not loans, and as such students do not need to reimburse PSHFF.

Continuation Requirements
To continue receiving money through a PSHFF Scholarship, a student must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester at an accredited college or university.
The student will have one waiver period during his/her PSHFF scholarship career that will allow him/her to drop below twelve credit hours during a semester without penalty. After the one waiver period, dropping below 12 credit hours at any time during the semester will result in the loss of a scholarship payment.
Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and not be on conduct probation. Dropping below a 2.0 GPA level results in an automatic loss of all future PSHFF Scholarship funding. If the student's cumulative GPA falls below a 2.75, and remains above a 2.0, the student will have one semester of probation with the scholarship intact to regain a 2.75 GPA level. During the probationary semester the student must meet with a PSHFF Scholarship staff member to discuss academic progress. Failure to regain a 2.75 GPA within one semester of probation results in an automatic loss of all future PSHFF Scholarship funding.
Requisite Satisfaction
Through its Collegiate Scholarship Program, The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Foundation strives to assist in the development of young men and women. As such all PSHFF Scholarship recipients are responsible to fulfill certain community service-type requirements. These include but are not limited to the following:
- Participation as a counselor or instructor at PSHFF sports camps or sports academies
- Volunteer work at the PSHFF Museum or administrative offices
